My heart's desire to create a better future for those who are born transgender. A world where surviving being born transgender is not a coinflip. A world where transgender children can dream as big as their cisgender peers and see their dreams come true.

The world should not be a scary place merely because during fetal development a complex interplay of biological, genetic, hormonal, and environmental influences shape brain and body to birth a transgender child. Genital differentiation occurs early in the first trimester, while brain regions linked to gender identity develop later. This timing means that hormonal shifts during a critical window can cause the brain to develop along a different path than the body.

The child does not choose this path they are born as they are meant to be. Imagine a world where they are judged merely on the content of their character not whether their body and mind match with a faulty ideal. Support, understanding and love can allow them the current cruelties they face while the world becomes gentler5 and kinder around them.

My book, My Life in Transition - Becoming a Phoenix is dedicated to their survival and the hope that should they not be surrounded with support, understanding and love it will inspire them to push through their darkness and become phoenixes as well.
